In 2009 Ollervides showcased some of his acclaimed collection What Women Want in Art Basel | Miami and in 2010 at the Oscars W Hotel, Hollywood Style Lounge. Last week he showcased his new preview Collection “Bleeding Earth” at the Deep Ellum Art Walk recently received the following write up in CRAVE magazine: “However the most exciting stop on the art walk wasn’t even on the map; we were invited by a very affable looking artist who turned out to be none other than national award winning artist Frankie Ollervides, to see his take on the art walk concept. His loft was practically a piece of art in itself, combining flashing L.E.D. lights, paintings made with tar from the Gulf oil spill, in a very intimate homey atmosphere”.

His current and future art projects for 2011 include:
Underwater artwork benefitting the Environmental Charity Organization Oceana. Using a new type of non-toxic illuminating pigment which he mixes with eco oil paint.  This technology is being created by its developers for a new Litro Energy Power cell that has been recognized by NASA and incorporates a special light technology to enable the paint to glow in the dark. He will be utilizing this technology in his next art exhibition in Art Basel. His other project includes Oil Spill Recovery Art- Bleeding Earth - A project he is currently working  on regarding last year’s Gulf crisis oil spill by BP.
As a result of his environmental work Ollervides was selected as a nominee in 2010 for GQ Magazine‘s “Better Men, Better World Awards” and ispired , he embarked on a mission to the Gulf Crisis to investigate the situation, help clean up , and collect inspiration & tar balls oil for his canvas. In soaring temperatures and humidity, Ollervides brought back a vision of what he saw in video, photos, to create his current multi-media environmental Presentation “Bleeding Earth”. Combining real tar oil mixed with other mediums, his 32ft x 11ft landscape mural takes the viewer into story behind the BP Oil Crisis. Using raw tar and visually compelling images Ollervides speaks his vision through his haunting images.

Despite his quiet and unassuming persona, Ollervides aspires to become an established Celebrity International Artist, representing Latin American Artists, and working with and teaching teenagers and inner-City youth to learn the value of the meaning of  Art in the world today. His recent preview of  his 38ft mural depicting the BP Oil Crisis has brought much interest from local teenagers in Dallas who were not even aware of the tragedy and it’s effects on the environment - so he’s happy to know he’s on the right track!
